Here's what's going on in this picture: the black thing in the middle is a video camera pointed back at me. In the lower left corner is a board I'm holding with an abstract asymmetric pattern on it, one of several available at this location. On the screen is the image that the video camera is capturing (you can see me with my camera!), except that the board is replaced with a 3D model of some building, oriented according to the board's orientation. In this case, one of the buildings at the Forum. (I just noticed now that the image displayed is actually reflected as well, presumably because people have developed their visual-servo senses with mirrors rather than with video cameras.)
